ICT for Education Ecuador

E.dúcate Ecuador was pivotal in my ability to develop ICT tools for education and social impact. In 2002 we started developing the 1st. Math and Language Platform K-18, called A.P.C.I (Personalized Complementary and Interconnected Learning). The project was taken to another level when the Municipality of Guayaquil decided to support the creation of technological labs with Edúcate´s ICT Program for every Popular School of the  Municipality, naming the Program ¨MÁS Tecnología, Educación de Calidad para Guayaquil¨. Beyond it´s expansion, it´s impact in education equity is notorious; according to evaluations and external reports as the one written by the IDB Bank. 

 

14 years later Edúcate Ecuador has benefited more than 420.000 children and teenagers and APCI is core to it´s educational offer making it´s characters part of Guayaquil´s cultural identity, and with 1.150 labs to date, this Municipality is as an example of how to use technology for social end educational equity.  

Jóvenes Productivos (Productive Youth) and Best Flor (Best Flower) are educational projects for social and economic impact developed for NGO Stratega. Their objective is to develop capacities in unprivileged teenagers and rural workers, certify their knowledge and link them to quality working experiences and job opportunities. Today Productive Youth is a Government Program that operates nationwide for social equity.  

Founded Protropic for all the KIDS, an NGO to raise education quality in a small rural school of Esmeraldas, the tropic area of Ecuador. A better building, technology, a Discovery Channel Learning program, capacity building for teachers and other actions installed to cover basic needs, generated unthought results. The NGO was embraced by the landlords of the area and the Costa Rica School keeps working today with their support.
